Getting the most out of your sauna experience
How to use the Sauna safely
• Undress and place belongings in secure locker.
• Remove make-up and shower before entering.
• Bring a towel to sit on.
•When entering the Sauna, sit or lie on your towel on a comfortable height bench.
• Relax. Within 8-10 minutes the dry heat will raise your body temperature and the perspiration will cleanse the pores of the skin.
• Before becoming uncomfortable, leave the Sauna and take a cold shower, or use the plunge pool to close your pores.
• Return to the Sauna for no more than 10 minutes.
• Pour up to 2 spoons of water onto the rocks to produce steam and add water, when required.
A maximum of 20-30 minutes in the Sauna is adequate. Exposure longer than this can result in dizziness, nausea, or fainting.
• Take a cold shower at the end of your session.
• Wrap yourself in a dry towel and relax for 15-20 minutes to regulate your body temperature. Take a warm shower before dressing.
• Drink lots of fluids when Sauna bathing to replace those lost dis
ration, alcohol excluded.
• If you feel unwell at any time during your session, please inform a staff member.
